About me

Hello! I'm a friendly, compassionate and  curious designer with a colourful backstory and a passion for making the world better through design.
I believe that at the heart of every great product lies a deep understanding of its users. My motivation as a designer is driven by my curiosity of humans, an obsession for perfectly placed pixels, and a passion for crafting intuitive digital experiences that make someone’s day that little bit easier. User experience design is my bread and butter and my design process is anchored on diving into understanding the core "why" behind what we are creating.

Currently crafting user experiences at News Corp, I've been at the heart of digital media innovation for the past two years. My journey here has been about redefining engagement across news, lifestyle, food, and sports across 100+ digital products.

I am experienced in working through complex business problems and am comfortable working through ambiguity, changing scope and tight deadlines that arise in projects by applying the design thinking process. I understand the importance of balancing user needs with business goals and technical constraints, and utilise a broad skillset across research, interaction and visual design to create products that meet all three.

I love working with collaborative teams, don't shy away from ambiguity, and am a dog lover through and through. Let's connect.

My values

Curiosity & Life-long learning: Never assume, seek to understand
Learning, for me, is about connecting with the wider world and all the incredible people and ideas in it, past and present. And that's what gets me fired up every day. Staying curious enables the enormity of the world to inspire me, and learning about it is how I ground myself. Embracing learning isn't just exciting for me—it builds my empathy, broadens my perspective, and keeps my mind open to fresh ideas. Importantly, it helps me to push away the fear of change, and instead consider it’s opportunity.
Designing with compassion: Pushing beyond empathy and user-centred design
I believe great design moves beyond empathy—understanding others' perspectives—into compassion, which compels us to act on that understanding with positive intent. I've come to realise that compassion in design isn't just about the end-users. It's way bigger than that. Sure, it starts with the users. That's the bread and butter of human-centred design after all. But here's where it gets really interesting - I think compassion pushes us to think beyond. It's pushes me to consider stakeholders, the business, society, and even the environment. It's like zooming out to see the greater ecosystem.
Always be authentic: Being real and honest for greater connection
In a professional setting, I've found that authenticity builds much stronger collaboration and a workplace culture filled with high energy and, most importantly, trust. When you're real with your colleagues, it creates this amazing atmosphere where ideas flow freely, and everyone's excited to work together.

My design journey

I grew up in the Adelaide hills, surrounded by nature and fuelled by an obsession with The Sims which sparked my passion for design (building houses, not playing the game). My love for design led me around Australia, setting the stage for my diverse design career.

Lights, camera, design!

My first major design love affair was with theatre. I moved to Melbourne, where I began at the Victorian College of The Arts, and dove headfirst into the world of costume and set design and discovered the power of storytelling. From creating underwater cabarets about Harold Holt to designing costumes in dystopian dance performances, I lived and breathed the thrill of bringing stories to life. This experience taught me the importance of collaboration, creativity under pressure, and the impact of immersive experiences – skills that continue to shape my approach to design today.

From physical to digital

As much as I loved the theatre world, I felt a pull towards making a broader impact. Enter Industrial Design  – my gateway to exploring sustainability, healthcare, and technological innovation. This period ignited my fascination with human-centred design.

It was during this exploration that I stumbled upon UX design, and it was love at first sight. The ability to craft digital experiences that genuinely improve people's lives while benefiting businesses felt like the perfect intersection of my skills and passions. I immediately began complementing my studies with a specialised UX professional certificate (Harness Projects) on the side, whilst working in product and graphic design.

Where are we now?

Now in Sydney, and with 8+ years of multi-disciplinary design experience under my belt, I'm on a mission to tackle complex problems and create meaningful solutions. At News Corp, I've spent over 2 years honing my UX skillset across 100+ products, from e-commerce to video, to AI chat experiences. I have a strong track record balancing business needs with user advocacy – a skill that earned me a NCA Consumer Award in 2024.

Looking ahead, I'm eager to apply my unique blend of skills to projects that make a real difference, with a particular passion towards sustainability, healthcare and the public sector. I bring an energetic, friendly, and inherently curious approach to every challenge.

So, if you're looking for a UX designer who can wake up every day excited to make people’s lives easier and contribute to a better tomorrow, let's chat! Together, we can design experiences that not only look good, but do good.
